PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the deterioration of desalting performance early so that measures for washing or replacing an electric desalting apparatus can be taken in advance before the desalting performance of the whole apparatus is deteriorated and the quality of treated water reaches a tolerance limit in desalting with the use of the apparatus. SOLUTION: A sampling tube 4 for measuring the quality of intermediate treatment water is installed at an optional position between the raw water inlet 18 and treated water outlet 19 of the desalting chamber 7 of an electric desalting apparatus on the side of the frame body 9 of the chamber 7 and connected with a water quality measuring device 5. The position at which the tube 4 is installed is made a measurement point (a), the intermediate treatment water in the desalting chamber 7 is taken up from the tube 4 every given time, and its quality is measured with the use of the measuring device 5 to detect the deterioration of desalting performance at the measuring point (a). |
