TREATING AGENT FOR WASTE GAS CONTAINING DIOXIN AND ACIDIC MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a calcium hydroxide-base waste gas treating agent for efficiently removing harmful materials such as dioxins and acidic materials in waste gas typified by waste gas from a garbage incinerator with satisfactory work efficiency. SOLUTION: The waste gas treating agent is made of calcium hydroxide having >=15 m<2> /g specific surface area due to pores of 20-50Ådiameter and 1-2μm average particle diameter, including >=20% fine particles of <=1μm, attaining 90% variation in electric conductivity within 15 sec and having >=70% fluidity index. In order to attain a particularly high removal rate of dioxin, 50-95 pts.wt. of the calcium hydroxide is used as a base and mixed with 5-50 pts.wt. lignite coke or synthetic zeolite having >=100 m<2> /g specific surface area due to pores of 20-50 pr diameter and <=30μm average particle diameter.
