摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite material using a reinforcing material having a small size under low pressurizing force, before molten Al is press-filled into the pores of a porous preliminarily formed body, by adding metal powder having an effect of reducing the surface tension of molten Al and in which the grain size lies in a specified range to the boundary to be charged with Al. SOLUTION: The porosity of the preliminarily formed body is preferably regulated to 10 to 90%. As the metal powder having an effect of reducing the surface tension of molten Al, the one composed of one or more kinds of elements selected from Bi, Pb, Tl, Ba, Li, Sn and Sr is preferably used, and, particularly, Bi powder is suitable. Moreover, the grain size of the metal powder is regulated to 0.1μm to 1 mm. The weight of the metal powder is prescribed based on the unit area of the boundary to be charged with molten Al in the porous preliminarily formed body composed of a reinforcing material to be deposited with it and is preferably regulated to 1 mg to 1 g per cm<2> .
