PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a prophylactic alleviating the seriousness of a disease fallen not only in neonatal period but also after mature and is useful for increasing curative effect by containing specific curcumin compounds or carcinoids as the active ingredient. SOLUTION: The subject prophylactic agent is obtained by containing 0.01 to 99 wt.%, preferably 1 to 80% of curcumin compounds of the formula (R<1> to R<10> are each H, an 1 to 4C alkyl or alkoxy, etc.; R<13> , R<14> are each H or bonding to form C-C bond) or caricinoids (preferably α-carotene) as the active ingredients. The daily dose of the curcumin compounds of formula is normally about 0.01-1000 mg, preferably 0.1-1000 mg per individuals in oral or parenteral (preferably injections) administration divided into 1-4 times a day. |
