PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for passively immunizing a cancer patient by using an IgG monoclonal antibody against a mutin type glucoprotein, and to provide a method for producing a vaccine which passively immunizes with the mutin type glucoprotein or a synthetic polysaccharide bound to a carrier polymer. SOLUTION: This method for preventing the proliferation and replication of a cancer cell expressing the nuclear structure of a mutin type glucoprotein comprises administering a vaccine into a target to induce an immune reaction against the cancer cell. The vaccine contains (a) a pharmacologically effective amount of an antigen comprising a purified mutin type glucoprotein having Tn or sialyl Tn epitope, the purified nuclear structure of the mutin type glucoprotein or a chemically synthesized carbohydrate component linked to a carrier molecule, and capable of inducing an immune reaction against the mutin type glucoprotein, and (b) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent or vehicle.
