PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a self standing fiber-reinforced tape that is excellent in self-standing properties and electric insulation by impregnating a narrow and long band made of glass fibers and/or aramide fibers with a water based melamine resin, curing them, curving them in the widthwise direction, further coating the curved band with a water-based epoxy resin. SOLUTION: A band made of union cloth comprising the warp of glass fibers and/or aramide fibers and the weft of glass fibers is impregnated with water- based melamine resin, then the resultant band is curved in its widthwise direction through shape-imparting means as rolls molds, guides and the like and the water-based melamine resin is thermally set. Finally, a water-based epoxy resin is coated on the cured band to give the objective self-standing fiber- reinforced tape. |
