PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microorganism-derived surfactant which can emulsifies a solid linear satd. aliph. hydrocarbon at ordinary temp. and specific bacteria used. SOLUTION: A surfactant which can emulsifies a solid linear satd. aliph. hydrocarbon and a practically usable bacillus can be obtd. by a method wherein a microorganism which belongs to Acinetobacter genus and has ability for producing a surfactant which can emulsifies a solid linear satd. aliph. hydrocarbon at ordinary temp. is cultured in a medium contg. at least one kind of 10-40C satu. aliph. hydrocarbons and solid-liq. separation of the liq. after cultivation is finished is performed and after remaining satu. aliph. hydrocarbons are removed, the liq. phase is extracted with a light hydrocarbon and the light hydrocarbon is removed from the extract.
