PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix the acceleration characteristic of a carriage irrespective of variations in a pulse motor. SOLUTION: The ink jet type recorder detects the stop phase of a pulse motor 3 at the start of moving a carriage 1 by an acceleration-start-phase detecting/control means 24 and, from acceleration data in an acceleration/ deceleration data storage means 22, selects one having a polarity which matches it. The recorder, then, outputs a driving pulse from a carriage-motor drive means 23, fixes the magnetic circuit characteristic of the pulse motor 3 exhibited at the start of acceleration, and thus keeps an accelerating force uniform. |
