摘要 Process and installation for making insulated pipes for underwater petroleum pipelines, wrapping plates of insulating material around an internal tube, by means of a flexible band held between rollers on arm. This system allows only a pressure orthogonal to the pipe surface to be applied, thus ensuring that the fragile plates are not fractured, whilst providing a good insulating layer. The process involves: putting a stack of flat insulating plates in a feed station where the top plate is on a flexible band (5) held between rollers (305, 315) on symmetrical movable arms (303, 313) in a rolling device (1); ensuring there is a relative displacement between the device (1) and an internal tube (6) to be lagged so the plate is vertically below the tube, parallel to and in contact with it; carrying out a vertical displacement so the plate is unrolled against the tube until it closes edge to edge at the top, by imposing an orthogonal pressure using the band; the arms are under a force which holds the roll in place, and the rolled plate is then fixed before separating the rollers to extend the device and find another plate from the pile. The insulating plate is made of high porosity microporous material with open pores, with a low stress resistance and a high resistance to compression, with its length adapted to cover the perimeter of the pipe. The plate is associated with a protective metal sheet which is unrolled simultaneously with the plate and welded along its edge. The pressure applied to the plate is regulated so it compresses the insulating material to allow the pipe to be the inside pipe in a double pipe system. The stages are repeated with successive plates on different areas of the pipe to join them together along the tube. The protective metal sheets are slightly larger than the plates so they can be welded edge to edge. Installation to carry out the above process.
