<p>An air conditioner in which an outdoor unit (24) having a compressor (1) and an outdoor heat exchanger (2) and a plurality of indoor units (25) each having an indoor heat exchanger (4) and an expansion valve (3) are connected through a gas piping (22) and a liquid piping (23). These gas piping (22) and liquid piping (23) are integrated, and means (10) is provided for exchanging the heat at part of the integrated gas piping (22) and liquid piping (23). The heat is exchanged between a portion of the gas piping (22) and a portion of the liquid piping (23), so that a high supercooling can be achieved even for an HFC coolant and the efficiency of the refrigerating cycle is improved. Since the heat exchange is effected between the outdoor unit (24) and the indoor units (25) at the portions of the integrated gas piping and liquid piping, when the pipes between the outdoor unit (24) and the indoor units (25) have different lengths, only the lengths of the heat exchanging portions are determined. Thus, the versatility is enhanced, and a system can be minutely developed according to the cooling/heating capacities. By using an HFC coolant, it is possible to protect the environment, to improve the efficiency of the refrigerating cycle, to reduce the size and to make the air conditioner recyclable.</p> |
