An electric motor, with cooling, includes a housingless stator whose laminated core (1) preferably has a rotationally symmetrical shape, with cooling slots (2) located on the stator core side facing out from the slots. The coil end windings (6) axially extend out of the laminated stator core (1). The cooling tubes (3) are flowed through with a cooling medium, and are arranged in the cooling slots (2) and are joined to the laminated stator core (1) and the end windings (6) by a heat- conducting plastics compound (10).
