<p>An apparatus for creating a light emission comprises at least one molecule which is positioned on a first electrode which is located at a tunneling distance from a second electrode. The molecule has a central entity which is bound to at least one peripheral entity which electrically decouples the central entity from the first electrode. This means that the central entity is not directly chemisorbed or physisorbed at the first electrode. The apparatus comprises voltage application means for applying an electrical voltage such that a tunneling current is flowing between the electrodes.</p> |
