The cylinder has an anti-rotation mechanism (28) to prevent free rotation of the outer piston (33). This mechanism comprises at least one engagement slot (29), constructed in one piece with the cylinder bore (22a) in the inner face of the cylinder casing (21), and an element (30) attached to the outer circumference of the outer piston to fit in the slot and move along it. The engagement element is provided with a wedge or roller for locating in the slot.
