The invention concerns a method for selecting a receiver among a plurality of receivers in a diversity reception installation. In such type of installation comprising several receivers, it is necessary to establish a criterion for selecting the receiver with the best reception conditions. In order to select the receiver with the best reception level, the levels of the adjusting signals (AGC1, AGC2) of the automatic amplification adjustment of the receivers (E1, E2) are compared in a comparator (VL), then the receiver whereof the signal has the lowest level is selected. The invention is applicable to diversity reception installations comprising several receivers, in particular for mobile installations.
