METHOD FOR PLAYING BACK A RECORDING MEDIUM

The invention relates to a method for playing back a recording medium (1), especially an optical recording disc, enabling faster access to titles. At least one address area is registered in the run-in area (4) of the recording medium (1), said address area containing at least one starting address of one the titles stored on the recording medium (1). The recording medium (1) is played back in a playback device (15) with a reading device (9). By reading the at least one address area, the at least one title starting address is converted into a starting time which precisely corresponds to a time unit and which is stored in a memory (13), wherein the starting time approximately corresponds to the playback duration of the recording medium (1) covering up to the addressed title start. In order to skip tracks in the reading device (9) on the addressed title start, the skip time is calculated directly on the basis of the corresponding starting time stored in the memory (13).
