The invention relates to essentially water insoluble amphiphilic particles or molecules with predominantly hydrophilic and predominantly hydrophobic domains distributed anisotropically on their surface and with a particle size of between 1 nm and 100 mu m, consisting of antagonistic sub-groups of particles or molecules which each have either predominantly hydrophilic or predominantly hydrophobic domains. The sub-group of particles or molecules is agglomerated or associated by polar interactions or by hydrogen bridges. The invention also relates to a method for producing these particles or molecules and to the specific use of the particles or molecules.
