The present invention provides peptide inhibitors of the haematopoietins interleukin-3, interleukin-5 and granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factor signalling, wherein said peptide inhibits the activation of Lyn tyrosine kinase and, thereby, blocks signal transduction via the haematopoietin beta c receptor common to interleukin-3, interleukin-5 and granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factor. Also provided is a method of treating a condition involving increased production and function of eosinophils and other granulocytes, comprising the step of administering a pharmacologically effective dose of the pharmaceutical composition disclosed herein.
