PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell having a thermal expansion coefficient approximate to that of an electrolyte and superior in conductivity, durability, and heat cycle resistance by using a compound substituted with a part of Ca of CaTiO3 as a matrix material. SOLUTION: A compound expressed by general formula Ca1-x Ax TiO3 is used as a material for an interconnector connecting the cells of a solid electrolyte fuel cell, where A is La, Sm, Pr, Gd, Nd, Y, Er. CaTiO3 and a substance having a thermal expansion coefficient smaller than CaTiO3 are preferably blended and sintered. A silicate compound represented by Nb2 O5 , Pr6 O11 , HfO2 , Ta2 O5 , Y2 O3 , Al2 TiO5 , ZrSiO4 , Er2 SiO5 , Y2 SiO5 , Yb2 SiO5 is preferably used for a substance having thermal expansion coefficient smaller than that of CaTiO3 . This interconnector may be used as an interconnector for a solid electrolyte steam electrolytic device other than for the fuel cell. |
