PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely read an original by storing accumulatingly a delay time of an image data output completion time due to a communication fault, deciding a control state of the reader independently of the communication fault till the accumulated delay time reaches a 1st specified value and selecting a 3rd control state when the accumulated delay time reaches the 1st specified value independently of the result by 1st, and 2nd detection means so as to conduct abnormity processing. SOLUTION: On the occurrence of a fault in a video bus making communication of a blue image data signal 133 and a red image data signal 134 to a PBM 15 in an output of an original image, a re-transmission request of image data is produced from the PBM 15. Upon the receipt of the re-transmission request of the image data from the PBM 15, a controller 123 selects the control state into the communication error monitor mode, the image data of one line sent finally are sent again to the PBM 15 and the selection result of the communication monitor mode is displayed on a CRT. In the communication error monitor mode, so long as the controller 123 receives the re-transmission request, the image data by one line sent finally are repetitively sent again. |
