PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To put a small-sized and high-speed image forming device to practical use without impairing higher image forming speed even though the diameter of an image carrier is made small. SOLUTION: This discharging device 27 is constituted of a light emitting means 28 arranged in free space in the vicinity of a photoreceptor drum 16 and a light guiding member 30 guiding the light of the LED lamp 28b of the means 28 to the discharging position of the drum 16 and consisting of achromatic transparent urethane sheet. Thus, the space for the discharging device on the periphery of the drum 16 is reduced and a distance from an exposure part 23 to a developing device 14 is extended even though the diameter of the drum 16 is made small in comparison with the conventional device.
