PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the transfer ratio of a back surface toner image by electrifying the surface of a second image carrying means to the polarity identical to that of toner with the electrifying means of the second image carrying means arranged on the upstream side in the moving direction of the second image carrying means from a position where a transfer material enters the second image carrying means. SOLUTION: When a recording paper P is fed to a transfer area, the surface of a toner image receiving body 14a is electrified to the polarity identical to that of the toner by the electrifier 150 of the body 14a arranged on the upstream side in the moving direction of the body 14a from the position where the paper P enters the body 14a. Then, the paper P is made to enter so that it abuts on or approaches the surface of the electrified body 14a. The paper P is drawn near the body 14a by electric charge on the body 14a and attracted to the body 14a so as to be fed to the transfer area. Since the part of the paper P, where the back surface toner image exists and the part, where the back surface toner image does not exist, are electrified to almost mutually identical potential when the paper P is attracted to the body 14a, the back surface toner image is not scattered around. Besides, since the back surface toner image is electrified again, the transfer ratio with respect to the back surface of the paper P is enhanced. |
