PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device by which the time till the print- out of a glossy paper is shortened without damaging the color reproducibility of a print image concerning the both-side printing of the glossy paper. SOLUTION: The fixing speed is switched between surface printing and back printing in the case of the both-side printing mode of glossy paper. The fixing speed control of initial surface printing in the bothside printing mode of the glossy paper is set as the same as that of a plain paper mode (S603) and the fixing speed of the back printing is set slower than that of the plain paper mode in order to make the color reproducibility of the glossy paper good (S606). An image on a surface where the normal fixing is performed is in an imperfect fixing condition, however, the fixing in a perfect condition can be performed by making the glossy paper pass through a fixing roller whose speed is made slow in the case of the back printing of the glossy paper. That is, the perfect fixing condition can be obtained by making the surface of glossy paper pass through a fixing device twice.
