PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow plural persons to easily utilize an electronic(E) mail while ensuring privacy and security. SOLUTION: This facsimile equipment 10, having a communication means 12 connecting to a public switched telephone network PSTN and a local area network LAN and an image scanner means for reading an image from an original, is provided with an optical character reader OCR means 18 that recognizes characters of communication information, such as an E-mail address and a nick name for a transmission destination and a transmission source from a header part of a read image, an address storage means 19 that stores communication information whose characters are recognized, and a control means 11 that allows the communication means 12 to send an E-mail from the read image to an E-mail address of the transmission destination resulting from character recognition or an E-mail address of the transmission destination selected and stored from display output on a touch panel display device 15. |
