PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for a plasma display panel having controlling letter information that is easy to recognize and does not trigger the fracture of a glass substrate. SOLUTION: Character information (numerals, bar codes, two dimensional codes and the like) is formed on a glass paste layer 32 installed on a glass board 31. More specifically, a material layer such as a glass paste layer or a metal paste layer is formed on the board, and the letter information is formed by irradiating layer beams at a stage before baking. In this case, the fracture of the board is not triggered as in the case that the letter information is formed directly on the glass board. In addition, the letter information is formed, depending on whether there is a layer formed on the glass surface or not and is thereby easier to be recognized than that which is drawn directly on the glass surface. |
