摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain lighting appliance using a light source device having a long life while easily reducing the size and weight by a simple constitution by including a fluorescent body absorbing ultraviolet rays emitted by a semicon ductor light emitting element and emitting secondary light having a wavelength longer than that of the ultraviolet rays. SOLUTION: Lighting appliance 100 has a wiring board 110 received inside a housing 120A and an envelope 120B. The housing 120A is a translucent cover, while the envelope 120B serves as a base attached to a ceiling or the like. Semiconductor devices 130, 130 emitting white light are placed on a principal surface of the wiring board 110. The semiconductor device 130 includes a light emitting diode and a fluorescent body for emitting ultraviolet rays. Such a semiconductor device 130 desirably has so-called 'three-wavelength-type' white light emission characteristics with a strength peak in each of wavelength regions of red, green and blue, for example.
