PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use only one cord for a connection with a computer and to facilitate the handling, by providing a bar code reader on the reverse surface of a mouse main body, which has a push-button switch thereupon and a ball projected on the reverse surface. SOLUTION: A switch output is generated by generating a pulse wave corresponding to the movement quantities of both X and Y shafts by moving the mouse main body on a flat plate and rotating the ball and pressing the push- button provided thereupon. Further, the mouse main body is moved on a bar code and then the pulse signal recorded in the bar code can be read out. Those signals are both switched by a changeover switch and one of them is inputted to the computer. The ball 2 is fitted on the center line of the reverse surface of the mouse main body 1 so that it can roll and when this ball 2 rotates, a switch provided inside functions as a rotary encoder which generates the pulse wave. Further, a light reflection sensor 3 is provided as a bar code reader on the reverse surface and connected to the computer by a cord 4. |
