PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction caused by making a mistake in looking at display and depressing a switch and to obtain excellent operability by adopting such a constitution that when a developing rotary is instructed to rotate, the developing rotary is rotated in accordance with the state of an image forming device. SOLUTION: A rotation control means such as a CPU is set so that not only the rotation of the developing rotary 16 is controlled to properly execute a developing operation, during the printing operation, but also when the switch as a rotational instruction means is turned on to input rotational instructions, during the nonprinting operation, a developing unit whose developer is depleted is rotated up to a fixed take-out position. The rotation control means is informed of the developing unit (yellow developing unit 13Y) whose developer quantity becomes <= a specific one, with a signal from a residual developer sensor, for instance. In this state, when a user looking at a developer absence display depresses the switch as the rotational instruction means, the rotation control means rotates the developing rotary 16 and stops it, when the yellow developing unit 13Y reaches the take-out position (window position). |
