PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a space on a desk where a device is placed by almost vertically stack each image forming unit on a base unit. SOLUTION: The image forming device 1 consists of a base body unit 2 equipped with a controlling device and a paper feeding cassette which can be easily attached and detached, and four image forming units 3a to 3d to form cyan, magenta, yellow, and black images, respectively, and a recording paper carrying and transferring unit 4 disposed almost vertically on the base unit 2. The liquid developer used is prepared by dispersing toner as image developing particles in high concn. in a developer solvent comprising insulating liquid such as dimethylpolysiloxane oil, and the developer has high viscosity. When a recording paper is passed through the image forming units 3a to 3d, images of cyan, magenta, yellow and black developers formed on photoreceptors of the respective units 3a to 3d are transferred by transfer rollers 34a to 34d with specified timings to the recording paper. Thus, a full-color image is transferred to the recording paper. |
