PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device for recording/reproduction capable of recording/reproducing high-density and high-capacity infromation by utilizing a relatively inexpensive light emitting diode. SOLUTION: This device includes a light source unit 100 consisting of a light emitting diode 101 emitting light and an optical waveguide 103 converging the light emitted from the light emitting diode 101, a collimating lens 110 converting a light to be emitted from the optical waveguide 103 into parallel- beams, an objective lens 140 by which an optical spot is formed on the recording surface of a recording medium 1 by converging beams passing through the lens 110, an optical path changing means 130 which is arranged on optical paths of the lens 110 and the lens 140 and which changes advance paths of incident lights and a photodetector 160 receiving light which is made incident on the detector by being reflected from the recording medium 1 and by passing through the lens 140 and the means 130. |
