PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict Barkhausen noises of a magnetoresistance effect film and obtain high reproduction outputs by specifying a breadth of each of a pair of longitudinal bias effect films, particularly setting each outside end of the pair of longitudinal bias effect films to agree with the outside of the magnetoresistance effect film or making a gap of the pair of longitudinal bias effect films equal to a gap of a pair of electrodes. SOLUTION: A first reproduction gap 3 of an aluminum oxide film is formed on a lower magnetic shield film 2, a SAL film 4 of Co-Zr-Mo alloy is formed on a central part of the gap, and a non-magnetic conductive film 5 of Ta is formed on the SAL film. A magnetoresistance effect film 6 of Ni-Fe allay is formed on the non-magnetic conductive film 5, and a pair of longitudinal bias effect films 7 of Ni-Mn alloy having a breadth of 2.0-4.0μm are formed on the magnetoresistance effect film to have a gap of not smaller than a breath of a lead truck. A pair of electrodes of the same gap as the breadth of the lead truck are formed on end parts of the longitudinal bias effect film 7 and the first reproduction gap to correspond to the pair of longitudinal bias effect films 7.
