PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect data in a storage device safely and to prevent an abnormal internal temperature rising by delaying the transmission of an abnormality signal until the access to the storage device is completed and the process for restarting operation is completed. SOLUTION: An abnormality detecting means 1 outputs the abnormality signal A by comparing a voltage developed at a current detecting element 11 owing to an overcurrent of a cooling fan driving motor 2 or a voltage developed at the current detecting element 11 owing to the disconnection of the coil or feed line of the cooling fan driving motor 2 with a specific voltage by an abnormality decision means. This abnormality signal A and the signal C generated by delaying the access signal B of an external storage device A by a delay means 5 are inputted to an AND circuit 6 and at the point T4 of time when the output D varies from low level to high level, an electronic equipment circuit 7 is switched to a state wherein the internal heat generation quantity of the electronic equipment is small such as a reset state and a power- off state. When the external storage device 4 is not accessed, the state of the electronic equipment circuit is switched at the point T of time when the abnormality signal A is generated.
