PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make all the packets received possible to specify a picture signal period by packetizing picture data or the like encoded by taking the picture signal period as a unit, adding a header for indicating time information to a packet. SOLUTION: An encoding device 101 generates DV data in which picture data, sound data and other additional information data are encoded and each frame of which consists of 10 sub-sequences. From an INPUT point, data of the subsequences are successively inputted. Packetization from the subsequence is performed in a packet means 103. A packet is added to by a header (a time code) by a packet header addition means 104 and becomes a transmission packet. This time code is transmitted to the packet header addition means 104 together with the DV data by the time code of timing encoded by the encoding device 101. |
