PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost and the labor of private packet exchange network construction by analyzing the contents of packets received from both sides, rewriting the packet contents in accordance with conversion information adjusted to the specification of an opposite destination and transferring it to an opposite side. SOLUTION: An interface conversion device 21 receives a packet frame transmitted from the packet processor PH22 or the packet exchange network 23-side of its own station via a layer 1 control part 211 which physically connects an X.21 interface and a layer 2 control part 212 executing a LAPB procedure and it stores it in an inner memory. An interface conversion processing part 213 analyzes the packet content, rewrites the content in accordance with conversion information 214 and transmits it via the layer 1/layer 2 control parts 211 and 212 of the line of the opposite side. At that time, the interface conversion device 21 analyzes/rewrites layer 3 (packet layer) information for correcting inter-packet exchange network interface to be connected. Thus, control on a call connection/release procedure and the procedure of retransmission is not concerned. |
