PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress high voltage generated between address electrodes and to prevent the occurrence of an unintentional abnormal discharge by providing a conductor section made of a conductive member in at least a part of the region of the face on the opposite side to the face formed with an address electrode group of an insulating substrate. SOLUTION: A conductive layer 4 of an ITO film is formed in nearly the entire region except for the external connecting terminals 5 (5-1, 5-2, 5-3,...) of an address electrode group 3 on the face (back face) on the opposite side to the face formed with the address electrode group 3 of a glass insulating substrate 2. A capacity is formed by the address electrode group 3 and the conductor layer 4 across the glass insulating substrate 2. The positive electric charges induced on the electrode lines of the address electrode group 3 are restrained by the negative electric charges, generated on the surface of the conductor layer 4 by the polarization of the glass insulating substrate 2. The biasing of the positive electric charges generated on the address electrode group 3 is suppressed and removed, and the occurrence of a high voltage between the adjacent address electrodes 3-1, 3-2,... can be prevented. |
