PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reflect correctly changed content that is intended by a user about the consistency of document content by providing a server with a function which performs check in and checkout management of document shared by clients and regulates the checkout of the same document by plural users. SOLUTION: A document storage device 30 preserves document that is shared by plural clients 40 and takes in and out documents under the document management control of a server 10. The server 10 which has preservation and management functions of the documents which are shared by plural clients 40 stores a check in checkout processing program that realizes a document management mechanism through check in checkout, and a document management database 20 realizes the document management mechanism. When one user specifies document and checks it out, although the document can be referred to (retrieved, printed, etc.), by other users, the document can not be updated until the document is checked in again. |
