PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a random number generator capable of generating normal distribution random numbers having a fine normal distribution characteristic and a required distribution characteristic from uniform distribution random numbers having a short bit width. SOLUTION: Random numbers of plural bits generated from the uniform random number generator 10 are divided into plural groups S1 to S9, respectively different weight coefficient 10, 8, 4, 2, 1 are applied to respective divided groups to weight these groups by a weighting circuit 20 and then adding processing for the weighted groups is executed by an adder 30 to generate a random number SRD having a normal distribution characteristic, so that normal distribution random numbers having a fine normal distribution characteristic and a necessary dispersion characteristic can be generated from uniform distribution random numbers having a short bit width. |
