PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibrating type actuator the supporting body of which can be moved in a presribed direction, without interposing any transmitting means that generates a frictional force, and which can generate uniformly accelerated motions. SOLUTION: A vibrator 3 is supported by a supporting body 1 to whose wheels are attached so that the body 1 can be moved in the y-direction. To the vibrator 3, angular speeds +Ωand -Ωof twisting vibrations are alternately applied by means of a piezoelectric element 4 and, simultaneously, speeds of bending vibrations +V and -V are alternately applied by means of another piezoelectric element 5. Consequently, a Coriolis force Fc is generated in the vibrator 3 and the supporting body 1 moves at uniform acceleration. No frictional force works for generating the moving force. |
