PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fluctuation of the dielectric loss of a nickel-zinc ferrite against the baking temperature by adding an appropriate amount of cobalt oxide to the ferrite in a calcined powder pulverizing process. SOLUTION: The blending amounts of Fe2 O3 powder, NiO powder, and ZnO powder are calculated so that a mixture of the three kinds of powder having a composition of (Ni0.53 Zn0.47 )Fe2 O3 may be obtained and the calculated amounts of the three kinds of powder are mixed in a wet ball mill for 24 hours. Then the mixed powder is calcined and the calcined body is pulverized in a wet ball mill for 24 hours. Prior to the pulverizing process, four kinds of pulverized calcined samples are prepared by adding CoO at mixing ratios of 0.03-0.5 wt.% to the mixed powder. Then the molded products obtained from each pulverized sample are baked at 1,200-1,300 deg.C. The dielectric losses of the baked samples at 10 GHz when the samples are baked at different temperatures are nearly fixed when the mixing ratios of CoO become 0.1-0.5 wt.%. Therefore, various kinds of products having nearly fixed dielectric loss characteristics can be obtained. |
