METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY MAPPING FACE IMAGE INTO WIRE FRAME TOPOLOGY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for mapping digitized image of the face into a wire frame, by positioning a trimmed reference face image with a trimmed target face image and applying a displacement field to reference wire frame topology. SOLUTION: Differences between face features detected from pixels of the reference face image 300 and the positions of landmark nodes are converted to generate the reference wire frame topology for the reference face image 300. The reference face image 300 and target image 600 are trimmed by a boundary box 500 surrounding noticeable face features. The trimmed images are mutually positioned so as to determine a displacement field 620. Then, the displacement field 620 is applied to the reference wire frame topology so as to automatically map the target face image 600 to the wire frame topology.
