Preventing the excessive supply of the release agent, and simultaneously preventing the dripping of the excessive release agent when applying a release agent, in order to prevent the offset by the heat roll. In a fixing device having a heater lamp mounted as a heat source in the interior of a cored bar of a heat roll, wherein the temperature is maintained to a heat-fixing temperature by controlling the electricity being supplied to the heater lamp, an application roll is mounted so as to contact the heat roll for a uniform application of a release agent, and an application member for supplying and applying the release agent to the application roll is mounted so as to contact said application roll, while a blade for limiting the release agent being applied to the roll is mounted thereto. The application member and the blade are positioned so that the opposing end surfaces thereof are adjacent to each other. In this way, the application region in the tip portion of the application member is in a saturated state, and the excessive supply of the release agent is limited, which leads to the stabilization of the supply quantity, and the prevention of generation of an excessive release agent. |
