The integral fastening for a vehicle seat cover fitting comprises a cord (3) with end connectors which can be joined together.It incorporates a strip of material (6) which is shorter than the cord and is folded over lengthwise to form a tube (8) with its edges joined by two opposite elements (11, 12). The strip can have its opposite edges welded by heat or ultrasound, either continuously or at separate points
