A rolling-contact bearing comprises an inner race 12 forced on to a shaft 6, an outer race 14 carried in a wheel, a pair of seals 18 respectively attached to openings between the inner and outer races at opposite ends thereof, and a shield 20 for shutting off each of the openings. The shields 20 is effective to prevent any deformation of the seals 18 due to collision of ice or gravel, deterioration or loss of packed grease due to entrance of moisture into the bearing, and rusting inside of the bearing.
