摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constantly maintain a heat-radiation surface clean and to measure air flow accurately by burning and eliminating a contamination substance adhered to a surface by using a catalyst. SOLUTION: When a fine powder in air is adhered to the surface of an electrical heating resistor 11, the surface is contaminated and the amount of heat radiation from the electrical heating resistor 11 to air changes, thus resulting in an error in the measurement of air flow. Since the main constituent of the fine powder is carbon, the fine powder being adhered to the surface of the electrical heating resistor 11 can be eliminated by changing carbon being adhered to the electrical heating resistor 11 to carbon dioxide. Since the electrical heating resistor 11 is at a temperature of approximately 220 deg.C, carbon cannot be converted to carbon dioxide. However, by using a catalyst, carbon can be converted to carbon dioxide at 150-200 deg.C, thus constantly maintaining the surface of the electrical heating resistor 11 in a clean state, eliminating the measurement error of air flow due to contamination, and hence constantly controlling an engine optimally.</p>
