Documents are scanned, by scanner (12) linked to one (10) of two networked computers, each document preceded by a corresponding divider with unique reference, which in turn corresponds to an information form. The image files produced are stored using a large capacity data storage system (18), which is also used to store searchable text files produced by the second computer (16) by OCR processing of these image files.
