PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coil form carbon fiber that has a large coil diameter and a long coil length and can absorb and shield electromagnetic waves. SOLUTION: The objective coil carbon fiber has a coil fiber diameter of 0.01-5 μm, a coil diameter of 0.1-2,000 μm, a coil pitch of 0-50 μm and a coil length of 100 μm-5 m and includes the clockwise doubled coil structure and the counterclockwise doubled coil structure. Into the reactor vessel 12, a metal catalyst 20, the gas of a compound of the element in the group 15 or 16 of the periodic table and a sealing gas are introduced, hydrocarbon or carbon monoxide is heated up to 600-950 deg.C. Simultaneously, a static field of high voltage is applied to decompose the hydrocarbon or carbon monoxide whereby the coil carbon fiber is allowed to grow. |
