PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink having good startup properties, excellent resistance to colorant fixation at nozzle ends and not problematic in nozzle plugging by including a colorant, dithioglycol, a polyhydric alcohol and a specified compound. SOLUTION: 3-15 wt.%, desirably 5-10 wt.% dithioglycol, 0.5-10 wt.%, desirably 1.0-7.0 wt.% colorant, optionally 3-20 wt.% polyhydric alcohol selected among glycerol, ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol, 1-15 wt.% compound of the formula (wherein R1 to R4 are each H or an alkyl), 2-60 wt.%, desirably 5-25 wt.% water-soluble organic solvent, 10-90 wt.% water are mixed with each other in such amounts that the total amount of the dithioglycol and the polyhydric alcohol is 5-30 wt.%, and the total amount of the dithioglycol and the compound of the formula is 5-30 wt.%. Thus, an ink jet recording ink which can be stably delivered can be obtained. |
