CONTACT LUBRICANT AND SMALL-SIZED MOTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a contact lubricant for the electric contacts in e.g. a small- sized motor equipped with a brush and a commentator and used for driving a tape in a tape recorder, video tape recorder or the like, by gelatinizing a lubricant having each specific hygroscopicity and boiling point. SOLUTION: This contact lubricant is obtained by gelatinizing a lubricant <=15% in hygroscopicity in an atmosphere at 40 deg.C and 90% RH and 160-290 deg.C in boiling point which is prepared by adding 1-3 mol of ethylene oxide or propylene oxide to pref. 2-methyl-2,4-pentanediol. This lubricant is provided in a motor case for a small-sized motor of such structure as to have a brush and a commentator and allow them to be set in sliding motion.
