PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-fuel ratio control device for a multiple cylinder engine that can continue stable adaptive control even in case an adaptive parameter operation cycle is longer than a fuel supply quantity operation cycle. SOLUTION: Operation of the fuel supply quantity by adaptive control is executed every period of ITDC (the top dead center at the time of starting the intake stroke of each cylinder), and operation of an adaptive parameter vectorθis executed every period of 4TDC. Movement averaging operation in a period of 8TDC is then performed to compute an adaptive parameter vectorθAV (k), and an adaptive correction factor KSTR is computed using thisθAV (k).
