PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve connection workability by connecting the ends of optical fiber cables disposed apart a prescribed spacing to each other by a supporting member and mounting a holder 3 freely slidably at the supporting member to hold the holder fiber optical juncture thereof. SOLUTION: The two optical fiber cables A, B exposed with coated fibers a, b by removing the coatings at the ends are disposed to face each other apart the prescribed spacing. The ends of the parts where the coatings of the cables A, B are not removed are connected by the supporting member 2 to each other. The holder 3 is freely slidably mounted at the supporting member 2 and the coated fiber optical juncture 4 where the coated fibers a, b respectively exposed from the two cables A, B are individually optically connected is held at the holder 3. The supporting member 2 is mounted at the center of a cable clamper 8 mounted at the end of the cable B. In such a case, the position of the holder 3 holding the coated fiber optical juncture 4 is changed freely in compliance with the extra lengths of the coated fibers a, b and, therefore, the excellent connection workability is obtd. |
