PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regard a shutter opportunity as important and to shorten a time lag in an automatic focusing device for a camera having a moving body predicting function. SOLUTION: This automatic focusing device for the camera having the moving body predicting function is focused on a moving subject by detecting the movement of the subject in the optical axis direction of a photographing lens 11, predicting the image surface position of the subject after a specified time, and driving the lens 11 to the predicted image surface position. Then, the device is provided with a focus calculation part 5 calculating the out-of-focus amount of the lens 11, a release switch 12 causing exposing operation by the operation of a photographer, and a sequence control part 6 which stops the calculation of the out-of-focus amount so as to immediately shifts to the exposing operation in the case of operating the switch 12 within a specified time after starting the calculation of the out-of-focus amount and deciding that the lens 11 is driven to a focusing position in driving the lens previous time. |
